Philip E. Mella
Although he finds the appellation needlessly redundant--if necessary in this age of political invertebrates--Mella is, by any measure a conservative Republican, in the tradition of Russell Kirk and William F. Buckley.
He has been published widely over the past 20 years, from The Wall Street Journal to a variety of regional publications. His focus, as is clear in his blog, is politics and public policy, with an emphasis on carefully selected historical evidence as well as polemically suasive rhetoric.
He invites constructive counterpoints, parries, and ripostes, but insists upon attribution for the sake of intellectual honesty.
History, in particular, military (ancient through modern), the apparent melding of science and religion (e.g., wormholes, parallel universes), cryptology, chess problems, literature and philosophy.
